The Osiris Team is happy to announce a new version of Osiris.
Osiris 0.12 gives many new improvements over every features: security, speed, stability and moreover this is the first Osiris version that introduce a native support of GNU/Linux.

Osiris is a freeware software made to build completely shared portals through p2p ( serverless ) and the new version 0.12 add the gateway Isis feature that gives the read-only access, to all content available on the Osiris p2p network with just a common web browser.

The software doesn’t need any other pre-installed component to work, and it is distributed as installable software or portable, it’s useful for external hardware.

To register to a portal it’s needed only to click on invite-link, or copy and paste the link into the browser. It’s available a dedicated forum to spread invite links, here you will find and publish link to portals made by the community.

Honorable mention: TorrentSpy

In 2006 TorrentSpy was more popular than any other BitTorrent site, but this changed quickly in August 2007, when a federal judge ordered TorrentSpy to log all user data. The judge ruled that TorrentSpy had to monitor its users in order to create detailed logs of their activities, and hand these over to the MPAA.

In a response to this decision – and to ensure the privacy of their users – TorrentSpy decided that it was best to block access to all users from the US. This led to a huge decrease in traffic, but still, it managed to make out top 10 list last year. March 2008 TorrentSpy owner Justin decided to shut down completely, and in May his company was ordered to pay a $110 million fine, which it will appeal.

Tutti i match del Mondiale per Club gratis in streaming

Dall’11 al 21 Dicembre 2008 si disputa in Giappone la quarta edizione del Mondiale per club (FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2008). E’ l’evento più importante a livello di club organizzato dalla FIFA e vi parteciperanno come di consueto tutte le squadre che hanno vinto la propria coppa continentale. Sarà possibile seguire l’evento gratis in streaming ma solo in determinate condizioni.

L’ edizione del 2008 sarà l’ultima disputata in terra giapponese. Le edizioni della Coppa del Mondo per club FIFA 2009 e 2010 vedranno il Mondiale trasferirsi negli Emirati Arabi Uniti. La FIFA a partire da questa edizione ha deciso di re-introdurre la finale per il quinto posto.

Pirateria informatica, bloccato un sito
Gestori denunciati dalla Finanza

La Finanza di Bergamo contro la pirateria informatica. Il Nucleo di Polizia Tributaria della Guardia di Finanza bergamasca, infatti, con l’ausilio tecnico di F.P.M. – Federazione contro la Pirateria Musicale – e la collaborazione di altri reparti del Corpo, ha condotto complesse indagini anche in diverse regioni d’Italia (Lombardia, Emilia Romagna, Molise), al termine delle quali sono stati denunciati i gestori del sito www.colombo-bt.org, portale della pirateria tra i più diffusi in Italia. Al sito è stato anche inibito l’acceso da un provvedimento del GIP di Bergamo comunicato a tutti gli ISP (internet service providers) italiani.

L’operazione era intesa a reprimere lo scambio illegale di files contenenti opere tutelate dal diritto d’autore, fenomeno illegalmente diffuso su internet e che costituisce una gravissima turbativa del mercato legale, generando mancati introiti di milioni di euro ogni anno per gli aventi diritto e per l’Erario.

IL FUNZIONAMENTO DEL SITO INTERNET
Scaricare musica e film sul web è diventato semplice e comodo grazie all’utilizzo di noti programmi di file sharing, che permettono cioè di collegarsi direttamente o attraverso un server (come nel caso del sito ora inibito) a una moltitudine di nodi, ognuno dei quali contribuisce alla diffusione dei contenuti.
Il sito posto sotto sequestro aveva un motore di ricerca interno, definito tracker, in grado di localizzare, mediante l’inserimento di parole chiave, le opere di interesse e coordinare le richieste degli utenti che volevano scaricarle. Indicando un’opera si generava un elenco di file corrispondenti da scaricare. Questa operazione poteva avvenire in un’unica soluzione ovvero «a pezzi». In tale ultimo caso, il download risultava più veloce ed un apposito software ricomponeva le parti nel prodotto intero, che poteva essere a sua volta messo a disposizione di altre persone collegate.
La registrazione al sito permeteva l’accesso ad un database online suddiviso per aree tematiche (musica, film, fiction, software, videogiochi), da cui attingere con facilità.

LE INDAGINI
Le indagini sono state coordinate dal Sostituto Procuratore presso la Procura della Repubblica di Bergamo Giancarlo Mancusi e hanno dovuto misurarsi con una rete di esperti informatici che avevano installato dei server all’estero, presso una società di hosting e housing della Repubblica Ceca (attraverso un semplice meccanismo informatico essi apparivano ubicati in Svezia), utilizzati per la gestione del sito. A questo accedevano milioni di utenti interessati a condividere e scaricare illecitamente enormi quantità di files multimediali, tra opere musicali in formato MP3 della discografia italiana ed internazionale, film di recentissima programmazione e costosi programmi informatici. I dati statistici on line evidenziavano un trend in continua crescita: circa 800.000 accessi ogni mese, da parte di utenti per lo più italiani (circa l’80%), che collocavano il sito tra gli 80 più popolari nel nostro Paese.
L’anonimato che i componenti dello staff si erano garantiti con l’utilizzo di nicknames (nomi in codice) è stato superato grazie alla meticolosa ricostruzione delle tracce lasciate dalle donazioni effettuate dagli utenti per consentire agli amministratori del sito il suo sviluppo (quale l’acquisto di nuovi e più performanti server), attraverso l’utilizzo di canali di pagamento internazionali on line. Tali rapporti ed un conto corrente postale (unitamente a tre carte Poste Pay) di riferimento in Italia, come peraltro la registrazione del dominio internet, sono però risultati intestati ad un nominativo di fantasia, grazie all’opera di prestanome resa da uno degli indagati utilizzando un documento fasullo.
Risaliti alla vera identità della persona, residente a Rimini, le successive perquisizioni hanno permesso di individuare i nominativi di due degli amministratori del sito, uno dei quali della stessa città della riviera romagnola (tra l’altro dipendente di una società di videonoleggio all’interno della quale sono stati rinvenuti e sequestrati circa 700 dvd masterizzati) e l’altro, il fondatore del sito, di Campobasso. Nei loro computer ed in altro materiale hardware sequestrato le prove delle illecite attività realizzate attraverso la creazione e gestione di colombo-bt.org.
Sotto sequestro anche il saldo dei conti correnti e le carte Poste Pay usate dagli indagati per la raccolta e l’utilizzo dei fondi provenienti dalle donazioni degli utenti.
Le indagini, ancora in corso, sono adesso rivolte all’identificazione di tutti i soggetti che hanno partecipato alla gestione del sito illegale, passibili di severe sanzioni di carattere penale. Le perizie tecniche sul materiale in sequestro forniranno inoltre precisi elementi in relazione alle responsabilità di coloro che hanno messo illecitamente in condivisione sul web i milioni di opere tutelate dal diritto d’autore.
