MILANO - A nove anni dall’ultimo disco, torna sulla scena musicale italiana Sabrina Salerno con un nuovo album. A settembre, rivela la star degli anni ‘80 al settimanale «Tu», sarà pubblicato un doppio cd, «Erase Rewind», in vendita esclusivamente sulla sua pagina di myspace.com. «La raccolta racchiude 13 hit storiche che hanno segnato la mia carriera e altrettante canzoni inedite pop-rock, che mi rappresentano molto meglio dei vecchi brani dance, perché raccontano come sono cambiata» racconta Sabrina. «Erase/Rewind», che dà il titolo alla raccolta, è il remake dell’omonimo brano che ha portato al successo la band svedese The Cardigans.

CHEMICAL BROTHERS PLAY ONE-OFF DJ SET!

They’re coming back! The Chemical Brothers are playing a one off, free DJ gig at the Forever Heavenly Festival.

They will be taking over the lobby of the Royal Festival Hall for one night only, playing a very special one off DJ set in the company of their old friends at Heavenly Recordings.

This gig is ticketed but is entirely free. It will be legendary. Needless to say, you need to be there! Some tickets have been made available for you ahead of everyone else.

All you have to do is call 0871 663 2500 and give the password “Brotherhood.

Bloc Party announce third album ‘Intimacy’

Bloc Party’s third album, ‘Intimacy’ will be available August 21. It can be pre-ordered now via the band’s website:

The album will also be available as a CD which will be delivered from October 27 and feature additional songs. Anyone pre-ordering the CD will also receive the digital album from August 21.

Bloc Party alerted fans to ‘Intimacy’s existence, as well as their ability to purchase the record instantly, when they hosted their first ever web chat on August 18. The album follows on from the release of their hit single ‘Mercury’ released on 11 August.

The album produced by Paul Epworth (Silent Alarm) and Jacknife Lee (A Weekend in the City) was recorded in Kent and London. Some songs are Bloc Party at their most wildly experimental, while other tracks are simply classic Bloc Party, fitting in seamlessly amongst fan-favourites ‘Helicopter’, ‘Banquet’ and ‘So Here We Are’.

Bloc Party recently played a run of sold-out American shows and are due to play Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend and headline the Hydroconnect Festival on August 30.

Following their fifth consecutive number 1 album last year, the Grammy award winning ‘We Are The Night’, The Chemical Brothers return with ‘Brotherhood’ a best of collection with a kick and a twist, set for release on 1 September 2008.

In a career that to date has spanned 13 years and accrued over 10 million record sales Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons have established themselves as true pioneers of electronic music and as The Chemical Brothers they have become one of the most popular dance acts of all time. Now seems the perfect time to take stock of their seminal output with the double disc celebration that is Brotherhood.

Brotherhood comprises of 2 discs, the first is a collection of 14 undeniable benchmark Singles from the bands immense back catalogue and new tracks ‘Keep My Composure’ plus the brand new single ‘Midnight Madness’.

The 2nd will feature exclusively Electronic Battle Weapons 1-10. Since 1996 Electronic Battle Weapons have acted as the laboratories for The Chems’ devious musical experiments and laid the rhythmic and melodic foundations for numerous tracks as well as providing some of the duos most formidable mixes. Bloc Party gave a world exclusive first play of their new single ‘Mercury’ to the Zane Lowe Radio 1 show in the UK tonight.

Speaking live on the show about the new song and the on-going recording session for the band’s third album Kele said “we’re in the middle of it. we’re still writing and working on it so it’s quite hard to have an overview really, we are making the record i always wanted us to make so we just can’t wait for it to be done.”.

‘Mercury’ will be released on the 11th of August.

Uploadare mp3 su Flickr

While most people use Flickr for uploading photos and videos, one can also use Flickr for hosting MP3 songs and other audio files.

For instance, these Flickr pictures are identical but the one on right is actually an MP3 file.

To hide an MP3 file into a JPEG image, copy the MP3 file and a picture into a folder. Open the command prompt window (Start –> Run –> cmd) and switch to this folder. Now run the following command:

copy /b my_picture.jpg + my_song.mp3 my_new_picture.jpg

Remember to replace my_picture and my_song with relevant file names. Next, upload the my_new_picture.jpg file to Flickr. The MP3 song picture will look just like any other regular photograph that you share on Flickr.

When you want to download that MP3 file from Flickr, open the relevant photo page, go to “All Sizes” and download the original sized image (example). Change the file extension to MP3 and enjoy the music using Winamp*.

And not just MP3 files, you can upload virtually any filetype to Flickr using the above trick including PDFs and Microsoft Office documents. But you may also want to consult Flickr policies to make sure that they don’t ban you for this.

*MP3 files encoded this way won’t play in QuickTime or Windows Media Player.
